Mental Health Awareness Week

Mental Health Awareness Week - 14 - 20th May

We all know what it’s like to feel stressed – it can be part of everyday life. But when you’re overwhelmed by stress it may lead to mental health problems or exaggerate   existing problems. The construction industry is noted for having a particularly poor record.

In May Construction News Mind Matters survey revealed "one in four construction workers had considered    suicide and 55 per cent had experienced mental health issues".

In March, data released by the ONS revealed that "more than 1,400 construction workers ended their lives during 2011 - 2015, the highest in any profession." Source www.constructionnews.co.uk

In support of our 2018 Charity Partner 'Mind in Bradford' we had a bake sale outside our office at lunchtime on Friday 18 May, it was a great success and raised over £100 for the charity.

'Mind in Bradford' provide information and support to anyone experiencing mental or emotional health problems, primarily throughout Bradford, Airedale, Wharfedale and Craven.  They provide a range of services which include a drop-in centre, guide-line helpline and 'The Sanctuary' crisis service.
