As chartered architects, it is our role to take a brief from our client, challenge it and develop a concept which contains the principles and aspirations of the client. Further design development ensures the design is compliant with statutory authority requirements and a package of drawn information is produced which can be tendered and used to construct the building. Our role continues throughout this construction stage to monitor progress compliance with the design principles and specification, and administer the contract.
We are an innovative and proactive organisation, challenging the norm and seeking alternative solutions, so as to ensure that the optimum result is achieved. RBS have regular internal design workshops where projects are looked at and ideas generated to develop high quality design solutions.
We undertake overall development concepts for mixed or single use developments. This could be new build or redevelopment of existing sites/buildings.
RBS can help to determine the viability of a site or building development to give the client a clear understanding of options available and budget costs. We can also establish the best strategy for development over a period of time so that elements can be built in phases.
We can assist clients in delivering greater value from their property assets. Accommodation Strategies start with a comprehensive review of the current property portfolio and in house resources. This enables the identification of potential savings and the optimisation of space utilisation.
A Condition Survey provides an assessment of physical property conditions. RBS can identify deficiencies and maintenance issues and this can be undertaken in conjunction with structural, mechanical and electrical surveys.
Dimensional Surveys are undertaken by RBS to produce accurate measurements of every part of a complete structure.
RBS undertake estate management; organising reactive maintenance, planned maintenance and adaptations of a client's property portfolio. The extent of service is defined and agreed with the client at the outset for a defined term.
Building Information Modelling (BIM)
RBS has the capability to use this innovative approach to design and construction. A BIM model contains representations of the actual parts and pieces being used to construct a building along with geometry, spatial relationships, geographic information, quantities and properties of building components. This has led to a more efficient and coordinated way for designers, engineers and contractors to develop a design and take it through construction.
We are able to assist organisations in gaining a clear understanding of the property issues facing them and enabling them to make informed and confident estates decisions matching their property to current and future organisational needs.
RBS uses 3D modelling to visualise architectural and interior drawings and creative design ideas in a three dimensional environment.
